The demographic

·         For a film such as a crime thriller, when it comes to the demographics of the target audience there a many different aspects such as age, gender, ethnicity, nationality and also social class.

·         The gender target audience of a crime thriller is usually aimed at both genders but some thrillers aim more at a certain gender, for instance, even though the film Seven is aimed at both genders it is a crime thrillers with gun fights and police chases which is a more masculine aspect which is why Seven is mainly aimed towards the male gender. On the other hand, the film Black Swan which can be watched by both genders but is mainly aimed for females, is also a thriller which is about two girls competing for a spot in a ballet performance and due to the fact the film involves dance which gives off the feminine side which is why the film is for females.

·         When it comes to the ethnicity and nationality side of the target audience for thrillers nowadays most thriller are really set for any nationality and ethnicity, but the film may be set in a certain nationality which may help gain a higher audience from that certain nationality. For instance, the thriller American Psycho was obviously set in America so they gain a higher audience count from people in America.  On the other hand when it comes to the ethnicity side of target audience there isn’t really any thrillers that aim at a certain ethnicity as they are aimed at all of the ethnicities.

·         When it comes to the social class part of the target audience for thrillers, the main social class target audience for thrillers is normally aimed at either skilled working class, all the way up to middle class, simply because in most thriller films the film is set in working class or middle class neighbourhood so it makes the film more relatable to the audience which create more fear and intensity to the film.

Psychographics

·         When it comes to the psychographics of a target audience, this is basically how different audiences are categorised depending on their interests and opinions.  When it comes to the audience interests of thrillers, there are many different categories such as some types of audience are more interested in watching crime thrillers like Seven, but then there are other types of thrillers such as fight club or Psycho, which are psychological thrillers and there are some types of audience that prefer these types of thriller just because of the intense fear and thrill that they gain from watching them.

·         There are all different types of target audiences that have their own opinion on thriller film, for instance there are some people who really enjoy watching thriller, whereas on the other hand there are some audiences that really dislike watching thrillers and then there are other that sometimes enjoy thriller and they sometimes don’t.
